As PyrateCon is fast approachin we want to get the word out about a meet and greet among Union members. We want to organize this to best suit everyone involved and as we have a number of members who are organizers for PyrateCon, I think it might be in arr best interest to discuss this and come to an agreement as to where and when. We DO NOT want to interfere with PyrateCon in anyway and if yer like the us we don't want to miss moment of the goings on...
So please make yer suggestions, recommendations etc...

First, let me thank all of ye who've joined - yer support be making this a better Union!

Second, a special thank ye to Hellena Devlin; a new member who generously donated to the Lafayette Cemetery fund! Everyone else who has joined recently, we be using of yer funds for the donations as well!

Third, another special mention to Piranha Swann Kidd - one of the main forces behind PyrateCon - for her continued support and the amazing job she, Cap'n. Red Eye and the crew at PyrateCon are doin' to make this the best event a gathering of Pyrates could hope for...and they're all proud members of the Pyrates Union as well as members of the "Buccaneers Of Tortuga"!

Other new members include: Ron 'Captain Jack Sparrow' Rodriguez (the #1 Johnny Depp impersonator in the US), Alicia 'Tess The Cabin Girl' Arcand (creator of The Pirate Festival, Toronto Canada and performer with The Merry Wenches), Bos'n Barry Bones, Martin 'Greydog' Blackwheel, Captain Kohl, Mad Grace O'Brien, Robin St. Graves (master of metalwork and creator of the Demon Rum) and Scarlett Of The Southern Seas.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Pyrates Union Brunch: Sunday, April 20 2008 (10:30am - noon) at Hobnobbers, New Orleans; just across Canal St. from the French Quarter (139 Carondelet St. - the "American" side of Bourbon St.)
The fine folks at Hobnobbers have graciously offered us the upstairs balcony area for our first Union meeting (though by then we'll all be well acquainted!). It is hailed as one of the best places to eat in the city (and is open 24 hours in case yer starvin' at other times). More information to follow...
Another big thank ye to Piranha for supplyin' us with the necessaries to contact the boss and make the arrangements!

New Orleans phone number: Ye can now call us on our local New Orleans number - even if yer not local! It's a free call if ye go to the website and click the "call me" button (it'll ask for yer number - works with cell phones, but there could be roamin' charges there). Most times we'll answer, but if not leave us a message and we promise to call ye back!
