PyrateCon parting thoughts ....
To all you wonderful pirates, doxies and wenches who attended PyrateCon'08,
It was all of you pirates, doxies and wenches.... and your being there that made PC08 the event that it was. The work I did was always a labor of love.
I gave close to a year of my life and time to ensure that all the all the pirates and wench patrons who travelled in from around the country and some from as far as Singapore and Scotland to be at PC08 would have the best time ever!
I know that the work that was put into PC08 was worth it from the hundreds of emails, pictures and videos that you so graciously are sending me of all you pirates and i hear how pleased you all were to be there.
I loved to see all yer happy pirate faces there so indeed PyrateCon was a success and the trip were well met!
I would like to thank my fellow workers and comrads at PyrateCon 08... The ones who did so much work before and during the event....without these folks there would have been no PyrateCon 08 at all....
...to the Pirate who was there, but missed by many .... Armand Bordeux de La Garde, the wonderous mouth and candor of Jewels Evermore, the genuine happy spirit of the gracious Stormy Seas, the fun loving Brea Tar Sweets, the humble and hard working John Marinus, the sexy and fun Franny L'Ollonais, the heart stopping Calico Bell Rackham, the riviting and ready Colby the Cobra, the never complaining Cutthroat Charles, the understanding and lovely Lady Vixen, the dam the torpedos Dagger, the omnipresent lucky charm Talderoy, to the gorgeous and always professional lady, and our Grand Marshall the Scarlett Harlot, the hard working and fun loving Captain Dave, the beautiful and true Helena, the now always dirty and fun to be dirty Stynky, the sexy texas vamp Sandra "Rev" for all her help with the vendors and the easy going and easy on the eyes Sher and the continueous help from the magnificent Krewe of the Wenches in NOLA. Thanks to the many special guest speakers like Christine and Michael Lampe, Arthur "Cascabel" Whittem and the illusive and mysterious Steve "the Black Fox" Kimball for his lectures and to the Pyrates Way Magazine which made PyrateCon a packaged and beautifully finished event, Cindy Warner McCool and the VA Blackbeards Crew, Kalen Hughes, Ben Gersh and New Orleans Rum Company, also the many folks who helped bring in the truck loads of props and gear (in garb with us all) even though they were not ground crew like Captain Huck and his lovliest lass Karen, the bands kept us all rockin thanks to the Rusty Cutlass, Skip Henderson and his crew and the Pirates Charles and their manager Scott Benton, the marvelous POTC guest stars Issac C. Singleton Jr. Vince Lozano and Treva Etienne and all the wonderful Pirate Master guests Nessa, Christa, Louy, Sean and Jon for being there and making my work easier and great fun even when the going got crazed by the end of Saturday night.
BRAVO TO YOU ALL! Applaud yourselves you deserve it!
Pirating is my creative escape so the work i did for PyrateCon was my love letter to all reminding us all that being a pirate or wench means being able to be young at heart, allowing us to spice up or add vigor and ad the creative spark many of us need in our mundane lives.
Meeting and making new friends, creating memories to last a lifetime is what we gain and we will live forever as pirate rock stars! Equal in every way! As pirates and wenches we are welcome everywhere we go by people of all ages some with joyful faces and some with confussed faces but all have larger than life smiles on their faces for us to drink in along with our healthy libations!
